Tulane Entrepreneurship Among Best in Nation

01/09/08
In a survey of over 900 schools released by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine, Tulane University’s A. B. Freeman School of Business has been named one of the top schools in the nation for entrepreneurship.

The Freeman School ranks 15th on the magazine’s list of the top 50 graduate and undergraduate programs for entrepreneurs. A number of criteria were factored in to evaluate the schools in the survey, including the entrepreneurial emphasis of the curriculum, mentoring, experiential learning, faculty credentials, and the success of graduating students and alumni. High-ranking schools demonstrated a commitment to practical, hands-on experiential learning to provide the skills that translate into real-world businesses. More than 75 percent of Freeman School students participate in entrepreneurship-oriented courses ranging from Cases in Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Management and E-Business to Feasibility Analysis, New Venture Creation and Business Planning. In addition, the newly revised MBA curriculum features an experiential learning module that links students with local businesses throughout the two-year program. The Freeman School also sponsors the Tulane Business Plan Competition, an annual event in which teams representing new business ventures compete for cash prizes totaling more than $30,000.
